PAUL METZGER - 23 String Banjos & Lobotomized Guitars

The late night punk hootenannies at the OBEY Convention often grab up a lot of the excitement when festival weekend roles up, and there's good reason. We've had some chaos at the Khyber, for sure. But some of the most mind altering performances happen in the quiet spaces earlier in the night. Expect a jaw dropper when Paul Metzger hits the early stage. Anyone who digs instrumental banjo and guitar (think Tacoma Records - John Fahey, Robbie Basho), deep improvisation, and/or mutilated acoustic instruments needs to check this guy out. Metzger has played over 500 shows, sharing the stage with folks like Boris, Sir Richard Bishop, Low, Six Organs of Admittance, Gang Gang Dance, and so many more.
